Largest international muscle biology research conference
A premier gathering shaped by decades of community leadership
For more than two decades, the Society for Muscle Biology has united the global muscle research community through its annual conferences, born from a shared desire for collaboration and scientific exchange. Emerging from early myogenesis meetings in the 1990s, SMB established its own flagship Frontiers in Myogenesis conference in 2000, followed by the Muscle Stem Cells meeting, now held in alternating years. These conferences continue to bring together leading scientists, trainees, and innovators to explore breakthroughs in muscle development, regeneration, and disease—advancing the field and strengthening the community that drives it.
